Go Renewables Survey

Unlock Your Home's Renewable Energy Potential

Is your home ready for renewable energy?

With our Go Renewables survey and report, we help homeowners understand their property's potential for solar PV, solar thermal, air source heat pumps (ASHPs), and battery storage systems.

Our detailed surveys provide TrustMark and MCS-registered installers with the precise information they need to offer accurate and competitive quotes.

We take the guesswork out of going green, with our unbiased advice we empower you to make informed decisions about your energy future.

How It Works

Step 1: Initial Consultation

Provide us with basic details about your property and your aspirations and goals for integrating renewable energy to your home.

Whether your aim is to reduce energy bills, lower your carbon footprint, or plan future retrofits, our survey will be tailored to your needs.

We will engage with you in order to collate the correct information to compile a proposal for you.

Step 2: Transparent Survey Quote

We will provide you with a clear and transparent cost for the survey, based on the renewable technologies you’re considering.

This ensures you have complete visibility, with no hidden charges. The survey that we will quote for is carried out in line with MCS Requirements in relation to renewable energy systems.

Step 3: On-Site Assessment

At a time convenient for you, our surveyor will conduct a thorough assessment of your property.

This includes but not limited to:

  • Room-by-Room Analysis: Digital floor plans and heat loss calculations to ensure accurate system sizing. Taking into consideration the entire thermal envelope of the property, roofs, walls, windows, doors and floors etc.
  • Roof and Site Inspection: Assessing shading, pitch, and orientation for solar technologies, as well as suitability for access equipment.
  • Electrical System Evaluation: Verifying capacity and compatibility for renewable installations.
  • Equipment Location: Details of different location options available to you based on where you wish the equipment to go, and not necessarily where is preferred by the installers for ease of installation.
  • Location Suitability: We will look at locations based on noise assessments and any restrictions based on property listing and regional area restrictions.

Step 4: Detailed Report Delivery

After completing the on-site assessment, we compile all findings into a comprehensive report, which includes:

  • Property Details: A summary of the property details with supporting photographs and supporting floor, roof plans, occupancy profile, heating profile and utility bill details. This is to enable providers to fully appreciate all aspects of the property, the occupancy and usage when compiling their proposals.
  • Up-to-Date Energy Performance Certificate (EPC): Providing a clear overview of your property’s energy efficiency.
  • Heat Loss Report: A full room-by-room heat loss report.
  • Measurements, Photographs, and Energy Performance Data: Essential details for system design and installer proposals.
  • Recommendations: Suggestions for optimal system sizing, placement, and integration with your property.
  • Advise: Suggestions on improvements to aspects of the property that can impact your decision and choice of system and help make any changes more economical.
  • Guidance: Clear steps on how to approach TrustMark-registered and MCS-accredited providers for competitive quotations.

Once your report is ready, we will arrange a post-survey call to discuss the findings in detail walk you through the content and answer any questions you may have.

This ensures you fully understand the report and feel confident in the next steps.

Step 5: Contractor proposal request

When you are happy with the report you will be in a position to approach as many providers as you feel comfortable with requesting their proposals and costs for the services you wish to have installed on your property. We will direct you on how best to approach this task.

If you do not wish to carry out this element yourself, we are best placed to act on your behalf and collate proposals for you, as well as help you review the different proposals if so wished.
